ANCIENT TRUES AND THE KARABAKH REALITY

Republic of Nagorno Karabakh [NKR]
The Karabakh-Azerbaijanian opposition has already turned for
a long time to the conflict between the right of the people to
self-determination and a principle of territorial integrity. It’s
true, years were necessary to understand all pretentiousness of these
two postulates fixed in the international documents. In the sense
that the real parity between them depends exclusively on a concrete
political situation and interests during the solution of geostrategic
problems. From here – the uttermost absurdity in international- legal
aspect. And the uttermost uncertainty: OSCE under which aegis there
the peaceful settlement process passes, as a matter of fact, recognises
correctness of all conflicting parties. In this connection, statements
of co-chairs of the OSCE MG are remarkable thereupon. In particular,an
American co-chair Matthew Brajza in interview to TV channel "Lider
TV" has declared recently, that "status of Nagorno-Karabakh cannot be
defined unilaterally, and in this question the position of both parties
should be taken into consideration". Moreover – "the conflict decision
should begin with maintenance of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan,
and only after that other questions can be discussed". I wonder,
and what such other questions can be discussed after maintenance=2
0of Azerbaijan’s notorious "territorial integrity"? If it is a "thin"
hint on self-determination in borders of Azerbaijan, it any more is
not self-determination, but "decision" of the people from the side. So,
Azerbaijan itself should define degree of "self-determination" of the
Karabakh Armenians. For such development of a plot waits in Azerbaijan,
therefore the aggressive rhetoric in the Azerbaijan mass media was
a little reduced, but such articles have come on change to it, as
"Reunity of Karabakh into the general family of the Azerbaijan people-
inevitability…". The author of the article who has wished to remain
the unknown, representing the wished for the reality and got drunk
with an anticipation of coming "victory", urges its "compatriots" of
the Armenian nationality not to give in to provocations of deputies
of foreign parliament (the parliament of Armenia means) and to come
back in a multinational family of Azerbaijan people. Here really
you will not write such on a sober head. And then, where has the
author noticed the general family of Azerbaijan people? In a nice
city Baku there has not already been for a long time. Perhaps in
the north of the country, in Hussar or Zangelan regions? Or the
"unknown" author has forgotten – Karabakh Armenians have already
lived before in this general family, and not by hearsay they know,
that what is it. Saying about that Karabakh Armenian s in the part of
Azerbaijan will have better life, than in independent NKR, the author
of article unambiguously hints at economic conditions of its country,
promising, that Armenians will live in Azerbaijan, as at the Christ in
the bosom. But how can Karabakh Armenians believe in a paradise life
in Azerbaijan if Azerbaijanians run from there? Omnipotence of the
"oil" factor not for simple Azerbaijanians and, especially, Karabakh
Armenians, not saying that oil of Azerbaijan is not durable. In
a word, there are no bases to trust in a virtual "best" life in
Azerbaijan. And the question is not at all in it. Karabakh people
have already defined the destiny for a long time and their place in
the world, and they will not go to any concessions, in respect of
so-called (that is in interpretations of official Baku) territorial
integrity of Azerbaijan. The international nigotiators in the name of
co-chairs of OSCE MG, understand it also and try to combine these two
principles. However, it is still not clear – how? One is good – each of
the nigotiative parties is interested in preservation of armistice in
the region. As the parties of the conflict adhere to opposite positions
under status of Nagorno-Karabakh, mutually acceptable settlement on
a compromise basis at the given stage cannot exist. Therefore the
optimistic spirit of co-chairs is not clear also, in particular, the
same Matthew Brajza, who declares, that the conflict can20be resolved
next year. As they say, time will tell. Realities can vary, as the
life doesn’t stand on one place.It’s an old truth. As well as that,
that in the big policy there is neither eternal friends, or eternal
enemies. No less than that, that each of the countries-nigotiators
operates exclusively in interests of its country.Just these trues also
should be taken into consideration during protecting of the right
on self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh, irrespective of passing
phenomena taking place in the big policy. As actual existence of the
Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is not passing phenomenon in coming and
next years. It is just a reality. We can name it Karabakhian.
