UNVEILING OF MONUMENT TO WILLIAM SAROYAN TO TAKE PLACE IN EARLY DECEMBER IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 27, NOYAN TAPAN. A monument to great writer William
Saroyan will be unveiled in early December in Yerevan. Monument’s
author is France-based sculptor David Yerevantsi. As Noyan Tapan
correspondent was informed by Frunz Basentsian, the head of the
Construction and Development Department of Yerevan Mayor’s Office,
currently monument’s pedestal is being built in the place where the
monument will be placed, in Mashtots Avenue, as well as the territory
is being developed. According to him, according to the preliminary
calculation, that work costs 22m drams (nearly 72.1 thousand USD).

F. Basentsian also said that the monument to F. Basentsian has been
already brought to Yerevan from Paris.
