ARMENIAN PRESIDENT SERZH SARGSYAN RECEIVED DEFENSE MINISTERS OF CSTO
MEMBER COUNTRIES
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS: Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
received today the defense ministers of the CSTO member-countries who
arrived in Yerevan to participate in the session of the council of
defense ministers of CSTO member countries. Secretary General of CSTO
Nikolay Bordyuzha also participated in the meeting.
Presidential press service told Armenpress that in the beginning
the members of the delegations congratulated the chairman of the
Armenian Chess Federation, President Serzh Sargsyan on the brilliant
victory of the Armenian men’s chess team in World Olympiad.
Considering the military-political, military-technical partnership,
consolidation of military element in collective security as the core
direction of the CSTO activity, the leader of the country underscored
more full and effective usage of the existing potential. According to
Serzh Sargsyan, in the zones which are under the responsibility of the
establishment the military-political situation demands serious joining
of the efforts and increase of the level of partnership.
The president said that these issues will also be discussed in the
session of the council of heads of the CSTO member countries scheduled
for December.
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian, reporting over the agenda
of the Yerevan session, noted that the main content of the joint work
was the consolidation of military element of CSTO and discussion of
directions and mechanisms of development.
