Nicolas Sarkozy: 2009 going to be exceptional and reasonable for
Karabakh settlement

The President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, considers that next year is
going to be `exceptional and proper’ for reaching the settlement of the
Karabakh issue.

`As Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, France will make every effort for
the peaceful and fair resolution of the Karabakh issue. You know how
much I’m personally interested in the issue, and I was pleased to know
about the encouraging results of the meeting of the Presidents of
Armenia and Azerbaijan with mediation of Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev," Nicolas Sarkozy wrote in a letter to the President of
Azerbaijan.

From this point of view I feel that the year 2009 will be exceptional
and reasonable. To reach the settlement of the conflict it is necessary
to make use of this opportunity. France is ready to contribute to the
positive dynamics, and will spare no effort for turning the Caucasus
into a zone of peace and progress.’
