SERZH SARGSYAN GRANTED "PEACE AND SPORT IMAGE OF THE YEAR 2008"

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS: Monaco’s "Peace and Sport"
organization awarded Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan "Peace and
Sport Image of the Year 2008" prize for the best display of friendship
through sport. It was handed yesterday to the Armenian Sports and
Youth Affairs Minister Armen Grigorian by Prince of Monaco Albert
II personally.

The jury has unanimously decided to grant the prize to the President
of Armenia for symbolizing hand shaking image with Turkish President
Abdullah Gul.

A. Grigorian told Armenpress that it was also decided to grant the
prize to the President of Turkey Abdullah Gul which was received by
the chairman of the Turkish Football Federation.

"During the prize awarding ceremony the hand shaking of the Armenian
and Turkish presidents was shown on a big screen," A. Grigorian
said. Chairman and representatives of the International Olympic
Committee and presidents of Olympic committees and different sport
federations were present at the event.
