WB TO START $2MLN WORTH TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TOGETHER WITH ARMENIAN DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

YEREVAN, December 9. /ARKA/. The World Bank (WB) intends to start
implementation of a technical assistance program for $2mln together
with the Armenian Development Agency (ADA).

Armenian government press service reports that before the start,
the Bank requested the Foreign Investment Advisory Service (FIAS)
to carry out a study of ADA’s activities and assess the agency’s
efficiency in institutional terms and the measures to raise it.

The final report on the study results was presented Monday, at the
meeting of Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan with Director of the WB
Yerevan Office Aristomene Varoudakis, Head of FIAS Karin Millet and
the experts of the WB and the FIAS.

The Premier said that the assessments, conclusions and the
recommendations made by the FIAS, confirmed his approaches to the
reforms in the Agency once more.

Sargsyan expressed his gratitude for the useful work and stressed
the importance of the assessment and consultations in improving the
efficiency of the Agency.
