QARANT SIGORTA AND BANK OF AZERBAIJAN CAN GIVE UP FROM SPOSONRSHIP POP SINGER TARKAN’S CONCERT IN AZERBAIJAN

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. At the end of November 2008 company Ses
Organization applied to Qarant Sigorta and Bank of Azerbaijan with
the request to organize a meeting of Turkish pop singer Tarkan with
his Azerbaijani fans.
Qarant Sigorta and Bank of Azerbaijan have reported that being
organizations sponsoring different projects from the very first days
inthe area of culture, education, and sports, we agreed to becoem the
chief sponsors of holding of the world-knwon singer’s concert in Baku.
But after billboards of the concert were disseminated, there appeared
an allegation in the Azerbaijani and Turkish press on the occasion
of Tarkan’s acceding to campaign "Armenians, Forgive Us".
"We have demanded from concert organizer Ses Organization and Tarkan
official clarification of such information. We don’t understand and
do not accept his "excuse" before Armenians who are occupying 20%
of our country’s territory and committed one of the cruelest massacre
crimes of the 20th century in Khojali that turned more thna million of
our compatriots in refugees in their own Motherland. We reproach this
campaign organizers. We inform that if the news concrening Tarkan’s
joining the campaign is confirmed then in such case we will refuse
to sponsor his Baku concert and co-operation with him in the future,"
the sponsors’ statement says.
