"If Armenia’s delegation is deprived of the vote in PACE, nothing
serious will change in the country," Heghine Bisharian, the
Vice-Chairwoman of the Orinats Yerkir (Country of Law) party, stated
at the December 25 press conference. In her words, no international
structure can punish any state. As to PACE’s requirement to release
the oppositionists arrested on the March 1 case, as H. Bisharian
affirmed it, the court should decide in Armenia who is guilty, who
is innocent, whom and how to punish. "I do not think it is right to
constantly say that those imprisoned should be released," the deputy
mentioned. H. Bisharian also stated that she is not a judge and cannot
give a grounded commentary on that ussue. "However, certainly, someone
should answer for the March 1 events and the 10 victims," she said.
