ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER TIGRAN SARGSYAN ADDRESSES CONGRATULATORY
MESSAGE ON THE OCCASION OF NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS

YEREVAN, JANUARY 1, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Prime Minister Tigran
Sargsyan addressed a congratulatory message on the occasion of New
Year and Christmas. Governmental press service told Armenpress that in
his message the prime minister particularly says;
`Dear Compatriots,
We have a twofold feeling as we part with the year 2008. On one hand,
we had regrettable losses and shortfalls for which we are asking your
pardon. On the other hand, we enjoyed the result of our citizens’
hard-earned and devoted work that helped us meet and overcome so many
threats.
Learning on past experiences, we all think about the future. What will
this quickly shaped new world be like? What kind of adverse and
positive changes will it bring along?
May God grant us strength and ability enough to resist the new
challenges with dignity.
May God give us wisdom to build a bright future for our country in an
atmosphere of unity, mutual respect and understanding.
I am well aware that Armenians worldwide have high expectations
from the Government. We have no right to deceive you. I am convinced
that under the leadership of the Republic’s President, our team will
be in a position to ensure unity in essential things, freedom in what
is secondary and love in everything.
Dear Compatriots!
On New Year’s Eve, I wholeheartedly wish that all your dreams and
plans come true. May any good initiative of yours, whether planned,
dreamt of or projected, take effect next year and any good idea be
converted into a good undertaking for the sake of our country’s
prosperity.
May all our noble deeds come to successful completion and this will be
the key to Armenia’s success.
A Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
