U.S. marketing analysts state that each American spends averagely ten
hours in front of a TV-set. Overally, people under 16 usually watch
360 000 ads.

Although the Union of Experts NGO hasn’t conducted such surveys in
Armenia, television undoubtedly plays an indispensable role in our
daily life.

The NGO voices concern about the organization and quality of air
transmission in Armenia.

"Those marketing surveys are conducted worldwide to reveal social
moods and to elaborate strategic directions to the best.

They conceal their cynicism and deliberately lay the fault on the
society stating the latter dictates the taste of the day. It turns
out the society orders the nonsense aired on our TV channels. We
have endured this chaos for a long time giving our consent to this
permissiveness. And today we forbid our children to switch on the
TV-set.

We have initiated an "Unpleasant Air" annual nomination. We aim to
make public concerns audible and involve people in the organization of
TV broadcast. Finally, we want to regain the reputation of television.

We don’t want to focus on a concrete TV Company and call on all
reasonable people to join our initiative," runs the statement issued
by the Union of Experts NGO.
