SERZH SARGSYAN SIGNS DECREE ON GRANTING AMNESTY TO NINE PERSONS SENTENCED TO 2-4 YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT ON CASE OF MARCH 1 EVENTS

YEREVAN, JANUARY 13, NOYAN TAPAN. RA President Serzh Sargsyan signed a
decree on granting amnesty to nine persons, Yeghishe Grigorian, Karen
Tarkhanian, Avetik Ghrejian, Karlen Manucharian, Armen Movsisian,
Haroutiun Mkrtchian, Norik Haroutiunian, Sargis Parunakian, and Raju
Petrosian sentenced to 2-4 years’ imprisonment for taking part in the
mass disorders occurred on March 1 in Yerevan, for getting, selling,
moving, carrying illegal arms, ammunition, explosives, as well as
using violence to a power representative.

According to the report provided to Noyan Tapan by the RA President’s
Press Office, the decision to sign an amnesty decree was made in
consideration of their appeals for mercy, as well as the fact of their
not having previous convictions, circumstances of the criminal case,
ans other, family and health circumstances.
