/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Surrounded by hostile Arab states, Israel was
profoundly interested in Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Caucasus energy
corridor project, according to an Armenian expert.
"Since the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline was put into
operation, Israel has received the lion’s share of the imported
oil-products. Russia and Iran’s activity and Armenia’s political
independence is inadmissible for Jewish officials, Eduard Abrahamyan,
an expert of Mitq analytical center said in his "Israel’s policy
in Caucasus: tasks and regional allies" article obtained by
PanARMENIAN.Net.
"Israel is trying to talk over Georgia and Azerbaijan whose interests
do not conflict with the interests of its major partners – the U.S. and
Turkey. Besides, this strategy fits Israel’s policy toward Iran,
the real threat to the Jewish state," the article reads in part.
"Azerbaijan is also important for Israel to promote its positions
on the Northern Caucasus. It’s not a secret that every year the
Azerbaijani National Security Ministry sends its officers for training
in Israel…
Actually, despite Israel’s visual passiveness in the Caucasus, its
policy in the region is outlined precisely," it says.
