ARMENIA AND FRANCE SIGN AGREEMENT ON SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION

On January 20 the ministry of education and science and the French
National Center of Scientific Research signed an agreement on
cooperation in Paris.
The agreement involves exchange of researchers, joint research,
conferences and seminars. For this purpose the International Scientific
Cooperation Programs, International Joint Laboratories and the
International Research Groups will be used. The programs will be
implemented on joint financing. As spheres of great importance for
both, molecular physics, chemistry, mathematics, the humanities and
social sciences were singled out.
The National Center of Scientific Research operates under the aegis of
the French ministry of higher education and technology. In 2008 the
budget of the center totaled 3.277 billion euro. It annually hosts
5000 foreign scientists, has signed 85 agreements with 60 countries,
including the former Soviet countries Russia, Belarus, Georgia,
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. France is the third country after Russia
and Belarus with Which Armenia signs such an agreement.
