ArmInfo. With the support and in cooperation with the European
structures the Armenian authorities have done their best to alleviate
the consequences of the post-electoral situation, Foreign Minister
of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan said during a press-conference today.

The co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee John Prescott
and Georges Colombier showed understanding during their meetings
in Armenia.

Nalbandyan hopes that they will show understanding during the PACE
winter session too. Nalbandyan says that one must not dramatize the
situation. He hopes that everything will be OK. Armenia has been and
is working to overcome the consequences of the post-electoral period.

Nalbandyan refused to explain what he meant by saying "showed
understanding."

To remind, the PACE winter session will take place in Strasbourg Jan
26-30 2008. PACE is expected to discuss Armenia’s efforts to implement
resolutions 1609 and 1620 adopted by PACE in Apr 2008 and to pass
a final verdict on the proposal of the PACE Minitoring Committee to
suspend the voting right of the Armenian delegation.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
