ArmInfo. Foreign Ministry of Russia has filed a note of protest to
the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and handed it over to Adviser –
Envoy of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow B.N. Zeynalov.

Russian Foreign Ministry website reported that the note particularly
says that referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Note
No. 5/10-080/04/09 dated January 15 2009, the Russian Foreign Ministry
informs the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry that Russian Defense Ministry
either transferred nor sold arms or military hardware to Armenia in
2008 in the quantity and nomenclature indicated in a certain document
published on January 8 2009 on the website , which
had large-scale negative public response in Azerbaijan, including in
the Azerbaijani media. The given publication is misinformation of
an evident anti-Russian nature and hinders development of friendly
Russian-Azerbaijani relations.

Taking into account the above mentioned the Russian party thinks the
problem risen in the afore mentioned note of protest of the Ministry
dated 15 January 2009, has been exhausted and it is sure that in case
of any anxiety display the parties will not make hasty conclusions and
steps, but will jointly resolve possible doubts in the spirit of close
relation of strategic partnership which connects Russian Federation and
Azerbaijani Republic’. The note also expresses hope that Azerbaijani
Foreign Ministry will find an opportunity to inform the community
and mass media of Azerbaijan about the position of the Russian party.

To recall, they mean allegedly transferring by Russia to Armenia
weapon that costs 800 mln dollars.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
