Levon Aronian Celebrates His First Victory In "Corus" International

LEVON ARONIAN CELEBRATES HIS FIRST VICTORY IN "CORUS" INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT

YEREVAN, JANUARY 23, ARMENPRESS: In the fifth round of "Corus"
international chess tournament Levon Aronian won grand master Sergey
Movsisian representing Slovakia and with additional standards yet
occupies the second place with three points. The tournament is being
held in the town of Veik an See, Holland.

The leader of the tournament is Sergey Karyakin from Ukraine.

This is L. Aronian’s first victory in this tournament, and according
to the chess media, with this L. Aronian signals about his claim for
the victory.

It is noted that the winner of this tournament during the last two
years L. Aronian was not in the first place at the beginning of the
tournament both times, but later he amplified his game and became
the winner.

Commenting on the present performance of L. Aronian, it is noted that
he plays without mistakes and the victory against S. Movsisian was
a skillful implementation of position advantage.
