THE FIRST MEETING OF THE GROUP WORKING ON INFORMATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY DOCTRINE OF ARMENIA

On December 22nd the first meeting of interagency working group, which
is to work out informational security strategy doctrine of Armenia,
took place under the chairmanship of the secretary of National Security
Council Arthur Baghdasaryan. In accordance with the press-service
of National Security Council, Baghadasaryan mentioned the importance
of country’s informational security and offered basic principles to
that issue.
The working out of the informational security doctrine is covered by
national security doctrine and also by the program of the Council
of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) for 2009. The
working out of the doctrine will boost the informational security
system of Armenia and also promote to the formation of information
exchange priorities and its security within CSTO. The members of the
working group exchanged opinions on the structure of the document,
talked about the necessity of the improvement of legal system in that
sphere, touched on Armenia’s informational security threats. Some
organizational procedures were also discussed.
Baghdasaryan instructed the working group to introduce their ideas
on the project of informational security strategy. He mentioned that
after clarifying the opinion of engaged structures the representatives
of mass media and civil society w ill also be involved in the work
on the document.
