IN CONNECTION WITH PACE DECISION NOT TO DEPRIVE ARMENIAN DELEGATION OF VOTING RIGHT, OPPOSITIONAL ARMENIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS CONVOKES EMERGENCY MEETING

ArmInfo. In connection with PACE decision not to deprive the Armenian
delegation of the voting right, the oppositional Armenian National
Congress (ANC) has convoked an emergency meeting.

According to ArmInfo data, ANC representatives have met to determine
the further strategy of the opposition in the light of Jan 27 decision
of PACE.

To recall, at Jan 27 session the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council
of Europe took a decision not to deprive the Armenian delegation of
the voting right by 141 votes ‘for’, 5 ‘abstentions’ and just three
votes ‘against’.

During Jan 27 debates in Strasbourg parliamentarians came to a
conclusion that Armenian authorities took the necessary measures to
settle down the situation around the defendants in the case on March
incidents in Yerevan.
