WB WELCOMES THE STEPS ARMENIA TAKES TO SOFTEN THE INFLUENCE OF THE GLOBAL CRISIS

President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan today received
the delegation headed by the Vice-President of the World Bank Shigeo
Katsu, President’s Press Office reported.

The President of the Republic rated high the cooperation of our
country with the World Bank. During the meeting discussed were issues
related to the programs to be implemented within the framework of the
partnership strategy with the Republic of Armenia within the coming
four years.

President Sargsyan thanked the World Bank Vice-President for productive
joint work and wished success to the newly appointed Regional Director,
Asad Alan.

The interlocutors discussed issues connected with the global
financial-economic crisis, its possible influence on Armenia’s economy
and the ways of resisting the challenges.

WB Vice-President highly appreciated the steps taken by the Armenian
authorities in the direction of softening the influence of the global
financial-economic crisis.
