RA PRIME MINISTER ANNOUNCES STRICT REPRIMAND TO DEPUTY MINISTERS OF HEALTH

YEREVAN, JANUARY 29, NOYAN TAPAN. RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian
announced a strict reprimand to Deputy Ministers of Health Tatul
Hakobian and Abraham Manukian for a conduct unworthy of a state
official. As the Prime Minister stated at the January 29 sitting,
calls received from citizens are evidence that many officials abuse
their post not realizing that the post is given for serving the people
and not for their own interests and feeling unpunished.
According to T. Sargsian, these phenomena are inadmissible, so there
is a necessity to start a dialogue concerning the issue how a state
servant should behave. It was also mentioned that a code of ethics
rules will be adopted in the future, and the norms established by it
should be compulsory for everybody. "Those not imagining themselves
state servants under these rules should write an application and be
relieved of their job. "Rudeness, obscenity are not characteristic
features of a strong leader, but of a weak one," the Prime Minister
emphasized.
It should be mentioned that according to a publication in the Haykakan
Zhamanak daily, in 2008 December in the Cactus restaurant T. Hakobian
and A. Manukian attacked and cruelly beat former RA Minister of Energy
Mels Hakobian and his son-in-law, who had rebuked the Deputy Ministers
before that for using foul language in public places.
