VLADIMIR VORONIN RECEIVES LETTER OF THANKS FROM HIS ARMENIAN COUNTERPART

CHISINAU, January 29 /MOLDPRES/. The President of the Republic of
Moldova, Vladimir Voronin, has received a letter of appreciation from
his Armenia counterpart Serzh Sargsyan. The Armenian President thanked
Moldova’s people and state for the assistance provided in mitigating
the aftermath of the devastating Spitak earthquake, MOLDPRES reports
quoting the presidential press-service.
The letter is timed to the events dedicated to the 20th anniversary
of the tragedy happened on December 7, 1988 in Spitak (North Armenia)
leaving tens thousands people dead.
The letter says that from the first hours after the earthquake the
entire world drew attention to the Armenian tragedy having once again
proved that people should always help each other. And today Armenia
is recalling with appreciation everyone who shared the grief of the
Armenian people and supported it in those hard days.
"We will always remember and appreciate your aid which is another
manifest of friendship and warm relations between our states. Mercy
and humanity multiply light and good in the world," the letter reads.
