Film director Tigran Khzmalyan thinks we shouldn’t underestimate TV
serials. Moreover, he compares them with documentaries. "You see how
naturally these people act and imitate criminals. You wonder why? And
I say because they are real criminals as Stanislavski would say. If
you view actors this way, everything will be okay in your eyes,"
Khzmalyan advised an A1+’s reader who wanted to find a way to struggle
against low-quality TV serials.

This week the visitors of A1+’s blog were given a chance to address
questions to the film director. Summing up the questions we could
see that the range of our readers’ interests is limitless. They are
equally interested in politics, philosophy, art and the director’s
personal life.

They wonder whether Tigran Khzmalyan will ever run for
presidency. Besides, Mr. Khzmalyan is asked to speak about his first
love, religious belief and family background. The Director had to
refer to the current political scene and speak of his reportages shot
during the Karabakh war.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
