LITHUANIAN PRESIDENT STATES SUPPORT TO PEACEFUL SOLUTION OF NAGORNO
KARABAKH CONFLICT

VILNIUS Jan 30

Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus stated support at the World
Economic Forum in Davos to peaceful solution of the Nagorno Karabakh
conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Adamkus met with his Armenian
counterpart, Serzh Sargsyan, at the Swiss ski resort, the presidential
press service reported. At the meeting, the Lithuanian leader also
spoke for Armenia’s closer relations with the EU and cooperation with
NATO. Touching upon the future of Lithuanian-Armenian ties, Adamkus
stressed that the mutual relations had grown closer and more intensive
over the past few years. Sargsyan, in his turn, said that an Armenian
Embassy would soon be opened in Vilnius. Lithuania launched an embassy
