Within the framework of his visit to Davos the President of the
Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, had a meeting with the President
of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus. The Presidents discussed a broad framework
of issues targeted at the deepening of Armenian-Lithuanian relations.

President Sargsyan said the successful experience Lithuania and other
Baltic states in the direction of European integration could be useful
for Armenia. Valdas Adamkus, in turn, expressed willingness to
cooperate, support and exchange experience on the path of Armenia’s
European integration.

At the request of the President of Lithuania, Serzh Sargsyan presented
the approaches of official Yerevan on the negotiations on Karabakh
settlement and the current stage of Armenian-Turkish dialogue.

President Sargsyan thanked Valdas Adamkus for the recognition of the
Armenian Genocide by the Lithuanian Seim, noting that `what happened in
1915 was a national and universal tragedy and a very sensitive issue
for every Armenian.’

President Sargsyan informed Valdas Adamkus about the intention of the
Armenian side to open a diplomatic representation of Armenia in
Lithuania.

Valdas Adamkus invited Serzh Sargsyan to visit Lithuania.
