RA NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ADOPTS BILL ON MAKING AMENDMENT TO LAW ON RA FLAG

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 3, NOYAN TAPAN. On February 3, the RA National
Assembly adopted ten bills and legislative packages discussed the
day before and envisaging making amendments and addenda to a number
of valid laws.
In particular, a bill envisaging an amendment to the law On RA Flag
was adopted in the second reading and completely. It clarified the
use of the state flag in the RA territory with another flag.
By the amendment to the law On State Property Privatization 2006-2007
Program adopted in the first reading the Energy Research Institute
CJSC is removed from the privatization list, and the latter’s status
is kept unchanged, 100 percent shares of state ownership.
By the amendments and addenda to the law On Prophylaxis of the Disease
Caused by HIV adopted in the first reading, in particular, the groups
subject to HIV examination are determined. According to it, donors
of blood, biological liquids, tissues and organs, pregnant women, as
well as children born from mothers infected with HIV are subject to
compulsory medical consultation. It is also stipulated that medical
workers provide consultation and examination to people suffering from
sexually transmitted diseases, drug-addicts, people in imprisonment
places. All population groups have the right to receive voluntary
consultation and examination on HIV.
By the amendment to the law On Limitations to Tobacco Sale,
Consumption, and Use adopted in the first reading creation of
special smoking zones in territories of educational, cultural,
health institutions is excluded. The amendments and addenda to the
RA Administrative Offences Code adopted simultaneously in the first
reading establish administrative liability for smoking in transport,
violating the rules prohibiting smoking, not undertaking measures to
limit tobacco use.
