Russia is not interested in settling conflicts in the region, including
the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Azeri lawmaker Baba Tagiyev said.

"Russia is pursuing a policy of neither war, nor peace," Tagiyev said
at a news conference on Tuesday after Azeri lawmakers visited Azeri
frontline units.

"Russia is not interested in resolving the problem. This insincere
mediator is interested in freezing the conflict in its current state,"
Tagiyev said. He said he is confident that if the peace talks are a
failure, the Azeri army will take steps to liberate its territories.

"I am convinced that the Azeri army will liberate the occupied
territory in 48 hours and reach the Armenian-Azeri border," he said.

Lawmaker Khava Mamedova said that the goal of the visit to the
frontline units was "to see the Azeri army’s tactical fitness."

"We could see that the Azeri army is becoming increasingly stronger
with every passing day. It is developing and improving. One can say
today that the Azeri army is very strong," she said.

Another parliamentary deputy, retired Colonel Aidyn Gasanov, highly
commended the Azeri army.

"The discipline is high in the army. The army is being provided with
all it needs at a high level. I can’t remember seeing such quality
logistics services even in the Turkish army," Gasanov said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
