The Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) joint military
forces will have no impact on Nagorno-Karabakh negotiations under the
OSCE Minsk Group, U.S. Co-Chairman Matthew Bryza said in an interview
with Trend News on Feb. 6.

"We do not know any details beyond initial reports of the possible
plan to create a rapid reaction force under the CSTO," Bryza said.

The CSTO member-states agreed to create joint forces to combat
terrorism and other threats on Feb. 4.

The organization noted that NATO has not responded to a call to
cooperate.

The CSTO comprises Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia,
Belarus and Uzbekistan.

Bryza said the U.S., Russian, and French co-chairs of the Minsk
Group are working effectively with Armenia and Azerbaijan to resolve
the conflict.

"This was reflected in a positive momentum by presidents Aliyev and
Sarkisyan on Jan. 28 in Zurich," Bryza added.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
