IRANIAN, ARMENIAN PROVINCIAL CHIEFS INAUGURATE TRADING AREA ON BORDER

Iran and Armenia inaugurated a trading area at the Nurduz border
terminal in the northwestern Iranian province of East Azarbayjan on
5 February, the Iranian news agency Mehr reported.
Mehr quoted the director-general of the East Azarbayjan
transportation and terminals department, Ali Firuzi, as saying that
the governor-general of East Azarbayjan in Iran and the governor of
Syunik Region in Armenia attended the inauguration ceremony held on
the morning of 5 February to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1979
Islamic revolution in Iran.
Mehr quoted Ali Firuzi as saying that about 4.5m dollars had been
allocated for the project.
The Nurduz border terminal is located 65 km off Jolfa town in Iran’s
East Azarbayjan Province opposite Agarak town in Armenia, Firuzi said.
