and transport companies of Armenia

ArmInfo. Today Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with
representatives of the biggest importers and transport companies of
Armenia.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the possibility of
establishing production of import-substituting goods in Armenia.
Sargsyan said that the Government was ready to actively support local
business. In the last years local importers have enjoyed quite
favorable conditions but the present situation is urging the Government
to change its strategy.

"The global economic crisis has set new tasks. We must carry out
anti-crisis measures: to attract investments, to create new jobs, to
improve our trade balance, to support processing industry. We have been
actively informing our people about our work in the last 6-7 months,"
Sargsyan said.

The importers thanked the Government for its commitment to help them
and presented some recommendations on how to develop local production.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
