Armenian, German leaders discuss ties, regional security – agency

Yerevan, 7 February: Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with German
Chancellor Angela Merkel in Munich today.

The leaders of the two countries met in the framework of Munich
Conference on security, a special correspondent of the Mediamax news
agency reported from Germany.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edvard Nalbandyan said the sides highly
assessed the level of bilateral relations, and noted numerous projects
which are implemented in Armenia owing to Germany’s support.

Issues of Armenia’s relations with the European Union were also
discussed at the meeting. Sargsyan and Merkel considered issues of
regional security in South Caucasus and settlement of conflicts.

The German chancellor invited the Armenian president to officially
visit Berlin in the near future.
