Official Yerevan has denied it undertook any non-financial commitment
before Moscow in return for USD 500 million worth loans.
Armenia and Russia have signed the USD 500 million worth loan agreement
in an attempt to cope with the effects of the world financial crisis. A
spokesperson for the Armenian Finance Ministry informed that the
loans to Armenian government will be allocated on more milder terms
than current terms in the world markets. The loans are intended for
15 years.
The Armenian Finance Ministry stated that the Russian loan allocation
did not pose any non-financial commitments before Armenia. It was
reported earlier that a large array of political conditions including
joining the Rubl Zone were laid down before official Yerevan.
