ArmInfo. On February 9 the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Edward
Nalbandian, received OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President’s Special
Representative for Nagorno Karabakh Goran Lenmarker.

At Mr. Lenmarker’s request, Minister Nalbandian presented the latest
developments in the negotiations on the settlement of the Karabakh
conflict, the results of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents’
meeting in Zurich.

In this context it was noted that the Moscow Declaration of November
2nd, as well as the statements of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair
countries and the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers create a fertile
ground for achieving progress in the negotiations on Artsakh.

For his part, Goran Lenmarker underlined that the negotiation process
underway within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group can bring to
the resolution of the issue and expressed confidence that the peaceful
settlement of the Karabakh conflict has no alternative.

During the meeting Edward Nalbandian and Goran Lenmarker exchanged
views on the European Union’s Eastern Partnership initiative.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
