The Azerbaijani delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will
raise the question of Russian armament supplies to Armenia at the
Assembly winter session, a source at the Azerbaijani parliament
told Interfax.
"Our delegation will call for appointing a special rapporteur of
the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for investigating the transfer of
armaments to Armenia. That would be done at the Assembly winter
session in Vienna on February 17-21," he said.
"Russia co-chairs the OSCE Minsk Group for the Karabakh Settlement,
so the transfer of armaments to a conflicting party by an intermediary
will be condemned at the OSCE," the source said.
The Azerbaijani delegation will present documents proving the Russian
shipment of $800 million worth of armaments to Armenia, he said.
The Azerbaijani media said that $800 million worth of armaments had
been transferred to Yerevan from the Russian military base in Armenia.
The Azerbaijani and Russian foreign ministries exchanged notes. The
Russian note said that in 2008 the Russian Defense Ministry did not
supply Armenia with armaments and military hardware of the types and
the amount claimed by the Azerbaijani media.
