THERE WILL BE NO SOCIAL OUTBURST IN ARMENIA AS A RESULT OF GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS, GAGIK MELIKIAN PREDICTS

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 10, NOYAN TAPAN. There will be no social outburst
in Armenia as a result of the global economic crisis, the member of
the parliamentary "RPA" faction Gagik Melikian expressed an opinion
during the February 10 press conference.
He said that the financial crisis, then the economic one were not
unexpected for any country, including Armenia. According to him,
with this aim some preparatory work was done in the country, in
particular, the state has accumulated reserve resources. Besides,
under conditions of an economic crisis, any country is trying to
increase the revenues of the budget as much as possible, while not
applying extra pressure on the economic field. In his words, it is
done by making the shadow sectors pay the full amount of taxes.
The deputy said that the recent steps of the Armenian government have
pursued this purpose.
