Top Officers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, members of
the Gurgen Margaryan Public Benevolent Fund visited Yerablur Pantheon
today to lay a wreath at the grave of Gurgen Margaryan, an Armenian
Officer brutally killed by Azeri Ramil Safarov in Hungary in 2004.

President of the Gurgen Margaryan Public Benevolent Fund Ashot
Kocharyan told journalists that it has now been confirmed by a verdict
that the crime was committed intentionally and was directed against
Gurgen Margaryan’s nationality, not his personality. "Once again we
express our will and resoluteness and do not forget him, aware that
he died instead of us. We are trying to demonstrate to the world how
and under what conditions the accident took place," he said.

According to the Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute,
Hayk Demoyan, it is obvious that Azerbaijan is consistent in its
efforts to extradite Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan, thus demonstrating
its almightiness.

"It’s obvious also that it is done on the highest level. Last year
the President of Azerbaijan paid a visit to Hungary. Ilham Aliyev
tried to settle the issue personally," he noted.
