APR 1 2009 PRICE OF RUSSIAN GAS FOR ARMENIA WILL BE RAISED TO $154 PER 1,000 C M

ArmInfo. Apr 1 2009 the price of Russian gas for Armenia will be
raised from $110 to $154 per 1,000 c m, Minister of Energy and Natural
Resources of Armenia Armen Movsissyan said in the parliament today.

He said that the use of the local gas network (a total of 2,000 km),
the collection of taxes and the continuation of the general gas supply
program led to a certain rise in the gas price. Movsissyan did not give
specific figures and advised the MPs to wait for the decision of the
Commission on Regulation of Public Services. He reminded the MPs that
the gas operator of Armenia is Armenian-Russian ArmRosgazprom CJSC,
a company that has done really much to reduce the incident rate in
the local gas network.
