ARMENIAN POLICE TO REMEMBER VICTIMS OF 1 MARCH EVENTS IN YEREVAN LAST YEAR

ArmInfo. Armenian Police will not let any disorders on 1 March,
commander of Armenian Police, Alik Sargsyan, said at today’s
press-conference. To recall, Armenian opposition forces are going to
hold a rally on 1 March 2009 in connection with the anniversary of
the tragic events in March 2008, as a result of which 10 people died,
including 2 policemen.

He also added the police are also going to remember the victims
of the 1 March tragic events, ‘I do not advise to try to take
revenge. We are ready to control the situation. Be unaffected by the
political forces. We shall not let any disorders, shut off of traffic,
screams! That is our business how to do it. The atmosphere of fear
should be withdrawn from the city’, – Sargsyan said and added that
on 1 March the police will work in high security.
