Azerbaijan arrests 3 Armenian soldiers – N.-Karabakh

YEREVAN Feb 28

The Nagorno-Karabakh military, apparently confirming an Azeri
television report, said Azeri soldiers on Saturday arrested three
Armenian draftee servicemen who had crossed onto Azeri territory.

"Three Armenian servicemen have been taken prisoner," Nagorno-
Karabakh Defense Army spokesman Senor Asratian told Interfax.

"Before dawn on Saturday, under circumstances that are not yet clear,
three draftees crossed the security zone adjoining the line of
separation between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan
and entered Azeri-controlled territory," he said.

In an earlier report that has not yet been confirmed by the Azeri
Defense Ministry, Azeri television channel ANS said three uniformed
men believed to be Armenian had been arrested in Azerbaijan’s Agdam
district.

The men asked for food and water on a local farm but local people
suspected they were Armenian and reported them to an army unit
stationed nearby, ANS said. Azeri soldiers arrested the suspects.
