ArmInfo. All the communities that will live in Nagorny Karabakh in
future should be involved into the negotiations sooner or later. The
sooner the better, French Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Bernard
Fassier said in Yerevan Tuesday.

He said the co-chairs seek to organize ‘direct involvement’ but
it does not depend on them. The US Co-chair Matthew Bryza for his
part declared that during their visit to Nagorny Karabakh the co-
chairs listened to the opinion of the NKR President Bako Sahakyan
and members of the government.

The co-chairs respect their stand, M. Bryza said. The co-chairs
‘involved them into the process long ago and respect their views’,
he said.

Russian Co-chair Yuri Merzlyakov said that before 1997 there was
different format of the negotiations and there were no meetings
at the top level. ‘Now such meetings are held giving more impetus
to the negotiation process than the stand of the Nagorny Karabakh
presented within the frames of OSCE Minsk Group would do. As regards
direct involvement of Nagorny Karabakh into the process, ir should be
settled om another level. We need the presidents’ consent for that,
as we can settle nothing on our level’, he said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
