/PanARMENIAN.Net/ UN Azerbaijan Representation submitted 2 documents
to the Security Council and General Assembly. The 8th point of
the resolution project on the situation in the occupied Azeri
territories, passed at the 62nd General Assembly Session on Mar. 14,
2008, specifies that the GA Secretary General has to submit a report
on document implementation. Taking the opportunity, the Azeri part
submitted 4 reports to GA and SC.
One of the documents addressed by Azerbaijan Representation Head, the
Ambassador Agishin Mechidiev to the UN Secretary General is entitled
"Report on UN and international organizations assistance to Azerbaijan
in NKR and adjacent territories conflict". The second document
addressed to the Secretary General is named "Report on international
legal obligations of militarized state Armenia, occupying Azeri
territories". A 30-page report poses 3 questions: 1. Should Armenia
be considered an occupant of Azeri territories? 2. If yes, what are
its obligations in the provision of public order in the territory,
Azeri legal system observation and human rights protection? 3. How can
Armenia be forced into fulfilling international legal obligations? In
conclusion, the report specifies: According to international law,
21 obligation should be imposed upon Armenia for its actions, APA
Azeri news agency reported.
This has been the 4th report submitted by the UN Azerbaijan
Representation, providing a "legal assessment" of the Armenian
policy. The first 2 reports were submitted on Dec 24 and 29, 2008.
On Feb. 19, 2009 OSCE MG delivered a statement against Azerbaijan-
