The newly appointed Ambassador of Afghanistan to Armenia Zalmay Azizi
(seat in Moscow) presented his credentials to the President of Armenia,
Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the Ambassador on assuming office
and expressed confidence that his appointment will freshen up the
bilateral relations.

President Sargsyan said Armenia attaches great importance to the
establishment of stability and security in Afghanistan and ranks high
the efforts in that direction.

Noting that Armenia and Afghanistan had some relations during
Soviet times, the parties attached importance to the resumption and
development of ties and underlined that it derives from the interests
of the two countries.
