"HERITAGE" WILL DEMAND RESIGNATION

The Heritage Party notes that the crisis in the country embraced a
new phase influencing directly on the social situation of the public
and of the country. "Artificial keeping of the exchange rate of the
dram by the Central Bank and its refusal to gradually transition
to floating exchange rate resulted in 20-30 % depreciation of the
Armenian dram in only 1 hour.

This proves that the Armenian government did not prepare the country
for the forthcoming crisis and failed all the possibilities to keep
away Armenia from financial-economic shakes. Moreover, these shakes
enable a group of oligarchs to get additional profit." This is the
opinion of the Heritage Party which presented the head of the Faction
of the party Anahit Bakhshyan at the Hayazq press club.

The head of the parliamentary faction of the party Armen Martirosyan
presented the reason of the happening. According to him, this was
aimed at providing the major oligarchs with immense profit. Armen
Martirosyan thinks that with the appearance of the global economic
crisis the Armenian Central Bank should have allowed a free float of
the dram. And the president of the Central Bank should be called for
responsibility for their wrong policy.

In response to the question whether the "Heritage" is going to
cooperate with the government and present pro posals on overcoming
the crisis the members of the faction answered almost simultaneously
the a proposal of cooperation is already made and a draft was
presented. According to the Heritage party, the cooperation is in
public’s sake.

The members of the party demand bringing major taxpayers to the tax
field, creating conditions for the development of small and midsize
businesses. The party is sure that not taking up measures against the
crisis, not releasing the political prisoners will deepen the political
crisis which will bring about a radical change of government and in
this case the Heritage Party will demand the government’s resignation.
