/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Christian religious Armenian community of
Amensdorf district of Halle, Germany, has obtained a land with a
construction which earlier hosted a Catholic church.

The community’s shepherd, hieromonk Aivazian said this is the only
church owned by Armenians in Germany.

`The Catholic church hasn’t functioned for three years already. And we
are happy that with the city administration’s permission it will again
bring the faithful under its roof,’ said Herbert Siegfried, chairman
of the Amensdorf society.

The opening ceremony will take place in June or July.

Over 500 000 ethnic Armenians need a church in Germany, reported the
website of the Armenian community of Berlin.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
