Saakashvili infuriates Armenians

[ 10 Mar 2009 17:02 ]

Yerevan-APA. Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s statement on
Armenia’s economy is absolutely groundless, said Samvel Farmanyan,
spokesman for the Armenian President, APA reports quoting Armtoday
website.
`Saakashvili has chosen a wrong way to distract the Georgian citizens’
attention from domestic problems,’ he said. `Armenian President was
numerously asked about social and economic situation in neighboring
states but he always refrained from giving assessments. This is what
we call politically correctness,’ Mr. Farmanyan said.
Yesterday, Georgian President said that `Armenia’s economy burst
because of its dependence on Russian market.’

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
