TATEV MONASTERY ` TOURISM CENTER IN SOUTH OF ARMENIA
National Competition Foundation of Armenia drafts a new project on
protection of Tatev Monastery and making it a tourism center.
In a meeting with the journalists the executive director of the
foundation Bekor Papazyan said that it is planned to reconstruct the
monastery, to build a ropeway in Halidzor Canyon and to construct a
hotel near the ropeway. `The ropeway will cut the time to reach the
canyon by 45 minutes. And it will be more comfortable. And the hotel
near the ropeway will serve for hosting tourists,’ he said.
According to him working places are guaranteed. The fund of the
project is approximately 20 million USD.
