March 10 court sitting on "case of seven" fails
YEREVAN, MARCH 10, NOYAN TAPAN. The March 10 court sitting on the "case
of the seven" failed due to the absence of Stepan Voskanian, the lawyer
of Grigor Voskerchian, the only defendant having a permission to stay
at the court sitting hall. The lawyer had introduced a message to the
court mentioning that he cannot take part in the trial due to his
participation in court sittings on March 11-13 in Georgia and had asked
to postpone the court sitting on the "case of the seven." However the
court fixed the next sitting for March 11 asking G. Voskerchian to
inform his lawyer about it and advised the defendant to hire another
lawyer for the trial.
It should be mentioned that at the previous sitting five defendants on
the "case of the seven," former Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanian,
NA deputies Hakob Hakobian, Myasnik Malkhasian, Sasun Mikayelian, as
well as Suren Sirunian were sent away from the court hall for 10 days
for treating the court with disregard, and the case on the part of
defendant Shant Haroutiunian was suspended until he recovers.
