Russia confirms commitment to Minsk Group settlement for Nagornyy
Karabakh
Baku, 12 March: There is no other way to discuss the Nagornyy Karabakh
issue but within the framework of the Minsk Group of the OSCE, Russian
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed today [12 March].
He said that the settlement of the Nagornyy Karabakh conflict was
discussed during his talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Elmar
Mammadyarov, in Baku today.
Lavrov noted that many countries were interested in settling the
Nagornyy Karabakh problem as quickly as possible, including those in
the region. He said the Russian side had been discussing the issue
with Turkish partners as well, exclusively as a part of the joint
mediation efforts of the co-chairs of the OSCE’s Minsk Group for
Nagornyy Karabakh – Russia, USA and France.
"There are no separate or any other talks of similar format being held
with anybody," the Russian foreign minister said.
