ACCORDING TO V. BRUSOV STATE UNIVERSITY, NOT FULFILLMENT OF PHOTOCORRESPONDENT GAGIK SHAMSHIAN’S PROFESSIONAL DUTIES, BUT HIS HOOLIGAN ACTIONS WERE PREVENTED: THERE IS INCIDENT’S VIDEO RECORDING

YEREVAN, MARCH 16, NOYAN TAPAN. According to the statement spread by
Yerevan V. Brusov State Linguistic University rectorate, the video
recording of the incident connected with former employee of the
Ministry of Internal Affairs, currently a photocorrespondent of the
Chorrord Ishkhanutyun and Aravot newspapers Gagik Shamshian is at
University’s disposal and will be provided if necessary. According
to the statement, G. Shamshian "acted cynically, unworthy of a
journalist, by violating University’s internal disciplinary rules
he broke into the University hindering the educational process. An
incident took place during his illegal actions, as a result of which,
according to media, G. Shamshian received bodily injuries." "We are
sorry for the incident, at the same time we consider it necessary to
mention that the incident is a result of not preventing fulfillment
of G. Shamshian’s professional duties, but his hooligan actions," the
University rectorate affirms. The rectorate considering "inadmissible"
the conduct of the guard records that "the guard should not have
yielded to the provocation initiated by G. Shamshian."
According to the statement authors, all that is the result of the
"instigating irresponsible" actions done by persons acting on behalf
of the Miasin movement lately. "Unfortunately, the law enforcement
bodies did not give a legal estimation to these actions and did not
make an attempt to suspend these incidents through actions proceeding
from the law."
With the statement the University rectorate called all lecturers and
students for keeping quiet and not taking steps that can hinder
University’s normal educational process. At the same time the
University warned that law enforcement bodies’ negligence, their
status of an observer to impudent and instigating actions indirectly
support such actions and can seriously shatter the educational process.
