In Round 2, 8 out of 12 games ending in a decision. In the combined
standings Alexander Morozevich joined Levon Aronian in the lead thanks
to a 2-0 win against Wang Yue.
Due to a computer crash after 16 moves the spectators were left
guessing about what was happening in the blindfold game between
Vladimir Kramnik and Teimour Radjabov. Fortunately Kramnik kindly
explained the course of the game after he’d won in a mere 24

The 18th Amber Blindfold and Rapid Chess tournament, organized by the
Association Max Euwe in Monaco is taking place from 14 – 26 March at
the Palais de la Mediterranee, located on the famous Promenade des
Anglais in Nice, France. The total prize-fund is â~B¬ 216,000. This
year’s field is stronger than ever with all the world’s best players
taking part. Every day four sessions will be played, two blindfold
sessions and two rapid sessions.
