YEREVAN, MARCH 17, NOYAN TAPAN. A total of 6 billion 780 million 663
thousand drams (about 1 million 822 thousand USD) was confiscated by
the Service for Compulsory Enforcement of Court Acts (SCECA) in 2008,
which exceeds almost twofold the 2007 index – 3.7 billion drams.
According to a press release of SCECA, the number of quashed and
completed procedures doubled in 2008 on 2007: in 2007 their number
made 38,718, while in 2008 there were more than 73,000 procedures. At
the same time, there was no increase in the number of employees.
The growth in confiscated sums was mainly due to a growth in sums
confiscated in favor of natural and juridical persons. The amount
of confiscations in favor of the state budget grew by 28% to 1.371
billion drams, while the amount of confiscations in favor of natural
and juridical persons almost doubled and made 5.409 billion drams.
